Generations

I didn't think this picture would ever be possible, in fact, it's nothing I ever even dreamed of happening. But the Lord is good and He allowed us to have a picture that will be a treasure for years to come. To some, this may not mean much, but to Erin and Anna it will be something I pray they hold dear to their hearts. This past week, my Grandmother from Charlotte came to visit and Joe's Grandmother from Las Vegas also came. Our other 2 grandmothers live in the area. We joked, wouldn't it be fun to get them all together for a picture, yeah, like that could happen. But while I was working Saturday morning, Joe arranged it for us all to travel out to Suffolk to see my Grandmother who is in a nursing home. I don't think Erin quite understood the magnitude of having her 4 Great Grandmothers in her presence and loving on her. Not many children even get to meet their Great Grandmothers and here she has 4. Anna won't understand for sometime to come, but she is constantly reminded that she is named after 2 very special women. The 2 Grandmas in the wheelchairs are Ellena Louise(Nana) and Ora Louise(Gma Fox) hence the name Anna Louise. We thank the Lord that we had this chance to have our very special loved ones together one last time. They all had a great time spending a few moments together that will truly be moments we treasure for a lifetime.

Anna on the Move!

Well - she's done it and right on cue with her 11 month birthday! Anna is officially moving on her belly. I can't call it crawling, more like commando scooting. Nonetheless we are thrilled with this new accomplishment. She's also discovered the coffee table and that cool things are on top of it. So I know pulling up is right around the corner. It has taken her a little longer to reach these big milestones, but we couldn't be more proud of her and have actually enjoyed her staying a baby a little bit longer.

AHHHHH....Just the Girls!

This weekend my best girlfriends from forever and I celebrated our 30th birthdays. Well, they are already 30 and mine is fast approaching. We planned this trip back in January to commemorate the big events of the year.

We started the morning at the Kingsmill Spa in Williamsburg with a 1/2 day pampering package. We had a heavenly facial, an unforgettable massage, and a soothing pedicure. Then we had lunch by the pool and laid out for a little and just talked!

After that we headed to our hotel and then went out to dinner, without children!!!! Plus, we went and got ice cream and didn't have to share it with anyone! We stayed the night and then did some great shopping at the outlets.

It was a perfect weekend of relaxation and just being with the girls. Although I'm not thrilled with the thought of turning 30, I'm so blessed to have shared more than half of these years with my best friend Jenny(21 to be exact) and the last 15 with Jeanette. Iron sharpens Iron and that's what these women have done for me. Love you girls - here's to the next 60 together!

What a Week! - Sunday

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy in the World. Your girls love you!

What a Week! - Saturday

Saturday we took part in our first fundraiser walk. We headed off to CHKD to participate in the 1 Mile Fun Run as a family. Even Anna had a number. CHKD holds a special place in our hearts and we wish to give back to them since they did so much for our little Anna. It was such a fun time together!

What a Week! - Friday

This morning the girls and I made our first trip to the Nieter's pool to meet Aunt Kim and Blake. I was scared about doing this with 2 kids because Erin isn't a water rat like her little friends, but she did great. Anna swam for a little while and then went down for a nap. We had a really fun time and can't wait to do it again. (Pictures to come)

Friday night we met the Jackson's at the beach for a picnic. The weather was perfect and the kids had a great time in the sand. Then we splurged and played Jungle Golf. Get Cody's autograph now because he is good - Erin needed some guidance on how to hold the club, but Cody knew exactly what to do. Anna just chilled in the stroller eating crackers. I love the beach at dusk this time of year, not too hot, no bugs and beautiful sunsets. It doesn't get any better.

Too bad I couldn't capture more of this beauty on camera - ours is on the fritz and Monday will be sent away to be repaired/replaced! Yeah! Joe's will have to do in the meantime when I can get my hands on it.
