Special Friends

This week we got to see some of our very special friends that were in our small group at church in the past. Josiah and Lindsay and baby McKenna were passing through town and were able to stop by and visit for a little while. It was such a great surprise and so fun to meet McKenna and catch up with them.

The Judds visit to town was planned and was on a bittersweet note. They sold their home here in Virginia and came back to pack and load all their belongings. As happy as we are that they will have a new home in Georgia and be able to start putting roots down there, we are very sad that there really is no chance of them moving back here anytime soon! A girl can hope though. We were blessed to have the chance to catch up over dinner one night. This is what life is, meeting, growing, loving, and sending. It's week's like this with special friends that make you cherish the times you had together and the people God has placed in your life for this season.

X = STRIKE

Erin made her first strike yesterday in bowling. Somehow the ball made it all the way down the lane with enough power to knock down all the pins. We were all quite proud of her! Sign her up for a league!

CHKD run/walk for the Kids

Ready to Race!
These 2 pal around a lot together!

Erin and her Bobble - when he was running the 8K, Erin asked if they would say "Jim" or "Bobble" when he crossed the finish line!

The Nieter Runners

Anna is so sad the race is over!

We walked in the CHKD fun run/walk for the Kids again this year. Well, let me rephrase that, some of us walked - Anna rode, while Erin opted for a shoulder ride from Bobble. Anyways it was a great, hot morning and I'm always so moved by all the people that come out to support CHKD. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, but I get tears in my eyes when I go to that place because I'm just amazed at all they do there to help children. We are truly blessed to live close to such a special place. We promised Anna we were just there for the race, we wouldn't be getting a room this time!!!!
