All About Erin

This post is solely about Erin because next to Disney World I would say she's had the best week of her life. Sadly, I don't have oodles of pictures to show it because I wasn't with her for most of the exciting things. It all began last week when we met our nieces at Great Wolf Lodge. Since then, Erin has been out to eat several times, out for icecream, to the Living Museum, to the Aquarium , to Jumpin' Monkey, and bowling. She did all of this, except for J.M., with her big girl cousins and Baba who were very kind to include her. I don't know how she is not completely exhausted, but she's still going strong. We are all very sad to see the cousins go back home, but I think Erin will miss them most of all!
A Bragging Moment: Erin made this letter by herself for her Baba who wasn't feeling well last weekend. It was her attempt at "Baba I hope you feel better" and I was rather impressed as she got most of the consonants. It won't be long now until she's writing words!

Funny Story: One night at dinner someone asked the girls if they had boyfriends, Erin chimed in "I have a lot of boyfriends, not so many girlfriends. But, one of my boys moved to Georgia." I thought it was so sweet and innocent. She does have a multitude of boy "friends" and not too many girl "friends" and she certainly misses her Anderson!

Let the Beach Days/Nights Begin

With the weather absolutely perfect last Sunday night we headed down to the oceanfront to get some sand in our toes. I love watching the girls play at the beach and soak in the beauty of God's creation. Anna wasn't so sure about walking in the sand, but I'm sure she'll be running in it by the end of the summer! Erin of course chased a few seagulls and exerted all her energy!

Spontaneous Small Group Cookout!

Anyone that knows us, knows how much we love the Summertime. So of course at the first glimpse of Summer we throw a spontaneous cookout. Sometimes those work out better for everyone anyways. So last Saturday when it was 80 we called up all our small group friends to come over for the first hotdogs of the season. The kids had a blast digging and doing my yard work for me while the adults had fun watching. Can't wait for many more of these events, planned and spontaneous!

The Great Wolf Lodge '09

We are so thrilled to have had the chance to go to The Great Wolf Lodge again this year. It was supposed to be a trip with Baba and Papa Joe, but turns out, our nieces were able to meet us there and make it even more fun. Erin just adores these girls as they are 16, 15 and 12 - the perfect play mates for her. Anna found climbing in the furniture and eating at the buffet to be extremely fun. Erin surprised us once again by being brave and going down the slide, something she wouldn't do last year. It was a wonderful family getaway and we can't wait till next year!

Anna loves the water!
