Labor Day Weekend

Anna loves Cracker Barrell - a veggie plate please!
2 beach bums just chillin'
Go Jackets!
Another fun weekend, of course, with these 2 cuties how could it not be fun. Saturday didn't look like much of a beach day at the start so we headed off to run errands, something I love to do. We ended up hearing back from a lady on Craig's list about a curio cabinet we were interested in, so we took off to Yorktown to pick it up. Since this was an impromptu trip, we decided to have lunch at Cracker Barrell - Anna's first experience. I have never seen the child eat so much! Then we took the scenic route back, stopped by Home Depot to get paint for our 2 bathrooms, and then Sams. We had 10 minutes to change and get to the softball fields for the Grand Finale of the season. The guys were supposed to lose after the first game, but decided to go all the way to the championship game which meant the girls went home by themselves!

Sunday we had some unexpected play time with Jenny's girls because Jenny wasn't feeling well, so we all played outside, but there are no pictures when there are 4 kids!

Then on Labor Day we headed to the Bay with the Saunders. Ryan and Erin did their thing, but Anna wasn't thrilled with the day. So we cut the trip short, but had come prepared with our Georgia Tech gear to get free strips at Chick-fil-A. Since Erin only at 1 and Anna 1/2 we have left over strips for dinner tonight - hooray. We had a family get together last night at my mom's, and for some reason I didn't take any pictures.

Tomorrow is the beginning of preschool and I am ready for it. I love having Erin home, but I love the routine that preschool gives us. And I know she loves it too. She thirsts for knowledge and socialization and she thrives in that environment. I'm going to have one tired little girl tomorrow, but we're all looking forward to this new year!

Farewell to Summer!

Well, it looks like summer left us a little early this year. Maybe will get a quick glimpse of it sometime in September. Last week we did some fun things to prepare for the end of summer, so here's one post with several different activities! It sure was a good summer one I think we'll always remember!

Spontaneous homemade pizza party with the Judds and Saunders. All the daddy's had work engagements that night so it was pizza and skinny dippin' for us. (that's a frozen yogurt place!)
Yummy - the kids liked choosing all their toppings!
Blueberry picking - we made it out to Pungo for the last day of the season. Boy were they yummy!
Cody and Erin took this picking thing very seriously and were quite proud of their accomplishments.
Look at this bathing, sand-eating beauty. That bathing suit was mine when I was a little girl, can you believe it. Makes me remember not to consign everything so my girls can pass on special outfits to their daughters!
My Beach Babes!
They think she hung the moon!
Carter gets to hang with the big kids now!
Erin's cousins came in for the day on Sunday and she had the best time with them.

That was EASY!

This is a silly post, but worth mentioning. I went back to the eye doctor today because my new contacts weren't fitting right and were blurry most of the time. He said they looked fine and suggested I give them a good cleaning there in the office. After using their solution to clean them, I put them back in and haven't had to adjust them once. I forgot what it felt like to be able to see clearly without smudges. Turns out - all I need is a different type of solution. If that isn't an EASY button task, I don't know what is. Thank you Lord for easy answers sometimes.

Good Times with Great Friends

Last weekend we were blessed to be able to spend time with our dear friends Steve and Karyn. They came up this way to head to the Outer Banks with their former small group and we were lucky enough to be home base for them while they were in town. Although the time was short, it was full of quality and we had the best time catching up where we left off and going deeper.

The best part was that we finally got to meet and squeeze their little A.J.(Anna Jane). Erin just adored her and Anna envied her. They all played together and Anna has picked up some new tricks as a result of watching her new buddy. Thanks guys for staying with us and giving us such a great weekend. Can't wait to do it again!!!!

This standing up stuff looks like fun - maybe I'll try it!

He loves me, He loves me not....He loves me!
Cruising on the boardwalk!

A Surprise Present!

Erin has been in love with 101 Dalmations for the past year, especially Cruella DeVille. Our little sweetie always has a heart for the villain. One of the highlights of Disney World was seeing Cruella on the float with all the villains. She pointed at Erin and made her day. Well a couple of months ago Joe met with someone whose daughter actually played Cruella at Disney. He was able to score us a picture of Cruella personalized for Erin. It says, "Erin, Spots are In!" Erin didn't know quite what to think when we gave it to her on her birthday and she absolutely can't believe Cruella sent it just for her. What a great surprise to be able to give a 4 year old who truly believes!

Anna's 1st Haircut

Just a little off the top please!
Watch it lady!
Beautiful Baby!

Anna got her first haircut on Saturday since the hair had been hanging in her eyes. She did a great job and looks cuter than ever!
